A common problem in floor cleaning today is cleaning chemical residue buildup, or a combination of cleaning chemical residue and partially dissolved dirt and grease buildup. This occurs from mopping daily with a "Soapy" mop and allowing the residue to dry and harden on the floor.This substance can be "tacky" when dry attracting dirt and very slippery when wet. Similar to a bar of soap. This is often not noticeable at a glance as these films usually build up gradually and are evenly disbursed from mopping wall to wall. In addition to being unsightly, they can reduce the effectiveness of our non-slip treatments. Examples:

It is important to understand that when" applying a cleaning chemical" to the floor and after it has dissolved the dirt and grease, it is necessary to remove it then RINSE WITH PLAIN HOT WATER. Compare to other common cleaning methods. Clothes Washers, Dish Washers, Car Washes, even when washing your hands, all have a Wash then a Rinse cycle. If the soap or cleaner is not rinsed off, a light film will remain on the surface and build up each time the floor is cleaned. The use of proper cleaning materials and procedures will maintain a higher appearance level and keep floors safe. We recommend the following steps:

#1 Pour a generous amount of cleaning solution on floor and spread with a soft bristle push broom. Brush for 5 to 10 minutes.This allows the chemical to break up dirt & grease on the tile and in the grout lines.	#2 Squeegee to floor drains or to a wet vac. Use soft foam rubber type squeegees. Remove as much dirty water and chemical suds as possible.	* WET VACS are the best option when floor drains are not available. They are inexpensiveand readily available.
#3 Rinse broom of all suds and dirt. Pour a generous amount of PLAIN HOT WATER over the area. Spread with the clean push broom.	#4 Squeegee water to drains or to a wet vac.	#5 Damp mop any remaining liquid with a CLEAN mop and plain hot water in mop bucket.

We help your company identify problem areas such as: Hand soap dispensers in restrooms often leak directly on to the floor. This soap is then spread over balance of the restroom and into other areas of the building when daily "mopping" is done. This type of soap is extremely slippery. This is also another example of the need for proper rinsing. This can also be avoided by mounting the dispenser over a sink or catch basin.
